Lamborghini’s hybrid V12 monster ditches the roof and every single one is already sold out.
Summary
- Lamborghini has introduced the Fenomeno Roadster, a permanently roofless hypercar limited to just 15 units worldwide to commemorate the brand’s 63rd anniversary
- The hybrid powertrain pairs a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 with three electric motors to produce a combined 1,065 hp, making it the automaker’s most powerful open-top model
- Featuring a Blu Cepheus and Rosso Mars livery inspired by the 1968 Miura Roadster, the vehicle achieves 0-62 mph in 2.4 seconds and a top speed exceeding 211 mph
Lamborghini has officially unveiled the Fenomeno Roadster, a roofless marvel debuting during the brand’s 63rd-anniversary celebrations at the Imola circuit. Serving as the ultimate chapter in the Italian marque’s highly coveted “Few-Off” lineage, this hypercar strips away the roof while turning up the aggression. The Sant’Agata Bolognese manufacturer is limiting production to a mere 15 units worldwide, which is half the volume of its hardtop sibling introduced earlier in the year. Unsurprisingly, the entire allocation has already been claimed by a hand-picked roster of the company’s most elite collectors.
Pushing the boundaries of electrified performance, the open-top track weapon packs a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine paired with three high-performance electric motors sourced from UK-based specialist YASA. This sophisticated hybrid architecture delivers a staggering 1,065 horsepower and 793 lb-ft of torque. Fed by a 7 kWh lithium-ion battery capable of a 12.4-mile electric range, the powertrain launches the vehicle from zero to 62 mph in a blistering 2.4 seconds. Drivers daring enough to keep the throttle pinned will hit 124 mph in just 6.8 seconds before maxing out at a top speed exceeding 211 mph, cementing its status as the most potent production convertible in Lamborghini’s history.
Engineering a hypercar without a roof required significant structural reinvention to maintain aerodynamic integrity and chassis stiffness. While the Fenomeno Roadster utilizes a carbon-fiber monocoque adapted from the flagship Revuelto, its front and rear subframes are entirely bespoke. Designers modified the upper functional surfaces to manage extreme airflow, integrating a carbon-fiber spoiler directly into the windshield and sculpting pronounced speedster humps that discreetly house essential rollover protection. The resulting silhouette channels the spirit of iconic aviation design without sacrificing track-ready downforce.
Aesthetics naturally match the extreme engineering beneath the bodywork. The launch specification sports a striking triple-tone finish blending Blu Cepheus, Rosso Mars, and exposed carbon fiber—a deliberate nod to the legendary 1968 Miura Roadster. Aggressive triangular headlamps and signature Y-shaped taillights flank a massive hexagonal exhaust, while unique center-lock wheels anchor the aggressive stance. Inside the cabin, a driver-focused “Pilot Interaction” setup centers around a portrait-oriented touchscreen and bespoke upholstery, completing a masterclass in modern, visceral automotive excess.
