Summary

  • The capsule collection bridges tailored and casual wear through a shared appreciation for classic American sportswear
  • Built around the palette of the New York City flag, the apparel blends Ivy League tradition with a hyper-local illustrative approach
  • American-made cut-and-sew staples anchor the release alongside vintage athletic-inspired garments and graphic accessories

Only NY and J. Press have officially teamed up to release a new capsule collection that pays homage to New York’s unique ability to bring people from all walks of life together. The collaboration honors both J. Press’ venerable institution in the city — which established its original New York store in 1919 — and Only NY’s status as an independent lifestyle brand inspired by the city, the outdoors, and the arts since 2007.

American-made cut-and-sew staples serve as the foundation of the offering. A lightweight, unstructured blazer crafted in New York State from a special wool-nylon ripstop balances timeless tailoring with everyday wearability. Pairing with the outerwear is a yarn-dyed Oxford button-down in a blue and orange stripe. This shirt is cut from heavyweight cotton woven specifically for the capsule and is detailed with a locker loop, a patch pocket, and a custom Bulldog “Made in USA” hem tag.

Navy and orange tones also highlight a classic USA-made rugby and an intarsia knit sweater, both utilizing 100% cotton construction and custom Only NY x J. Press woven labels. Adding a casual flair, a vintage athletic-inspired crewneck and ringer tee feature Only NY’s reinterpretation of the iconic J. Press bulldog. To finish off the range, the duo provides a USA-made six-panel cotton twill “NY” hat with split collegiate lettering, a made-in-NYC silk tie woven with illustrated city characters, and a graphic enamel lapel pin.

The Only NY × J. Press collection is now available online and in-store at both Only NY and J. Press flagship stores
