Chloé Gives Home Decor the Tomato Treatment

Chloé Creative Director Chemena Kamali has been celebrated for reviving the brand’s signature nostalgic, bohemian vibe ever since her debut ready-to-wear collection for Fall/Winter 2024, where Kamali unveiled flowy frocks and ruffles galore. It was a resurgence of the adventurous energy that characterized the House in the ‘70s. But this exclusive release may be one of the House’s most playful — and appetizing — yet: the Tomato Chair.

This isn’t the first time fresh produce and furniture have made a collective impact. The Tomato Chair was originally introduced in 1970 by French designer Christian Adam, in partnership with Italian manufacturer Poltronova, a studio based in Tuscany that specializes in unconventional craftsmanship.

Now making its return during Milan Design Week, Kamali reintroduces the unexpected home decor piece, this time through the Chloé lens. It’s a design that immediately resonated with the Maison’s free-spirited approach due to its organic, gestural shape — but ultimately, the Tomato Chair meshes seamlessly with the brand because it doesn’t take itself too seriously. Through this exclusive release, Kamali posits the question, “Why can’t your home decor be just as expressive as your clothing?”

You can check out the Tomato Chairs at the Chloé Milan boutique from April 22-26.
