HyperMegaTech! has officially unveiled the Super Pocket Rare Edition, the newest addition to its award-winning line of licensed retro gaming handhelds. Expanding the Evercade ecosystem, the compact console arrives in a vibrant red, blue, and yellow colorway inspired by the acclaimed British game developer Rare, delivering decades of gaming history in a highly portable format.
Leading the device’s software lineup is a curated selection of 14 built-in Rare classics. For the first time on a Super Pocket, the handheld features a 64-bit console title, headlined by the iconic platformer Banjo-Kazooie. The pre-loaded roster also spans 8-bit, 16-bit, and home computer favorites, packing in legendary franchises like Battletoads, Conker’s Pocket Tales, Jetpac, and Knight Lore. Beyond the built-in library, the console integrates an Evercade cartridge slot on the rear, enabling users to expand their collection with over 650 compatible titles from the Evercade ecosystem.
On the hardware front, the Super Pocket Rare Edition is equipped with a crisp 2.8-inch IPS display boasting a 320×240 resolution. The vertical handheld ensures extended playtime with a built-in battery that provides over four hours of continuous gaming. Additional technical specifications include a USB-C port for fast charging, dedicated L1/L2 and R1/R2 shoulder buttons finished in a bright yellow, and a standard 3.5mm headphone jack for immersive audio.
