Summary

  • CREATURE’s STARBOY is a wearable digital pet that reacts in real time to its environment, featuring a 400 x 400 OLED display and custom haptic “purring” engine
  • Powered by sensors and local AI, STARBOY recognizes faces, gestures and environmental changes, communicates with other units

CREATURE’s STARBOY arrives as a playful fusion of technology, fashion and digital companionship. Conceived as a wearable digital pet, STARBOY is a small standalone device designed to live on a bag, purse, or carabiner, responding in real time to the world around it. Unlike most gadgets, it doesn’t connect to phones or the internet; instead, it exists as a charming presence somewhere between accessory, jewelry and living creature.

Visually, STARBOY is distinguished by a 400 x 400 OLED display running at 60fps, showcasing more than 500 hand‑keyed animations created by former Disney animators. These animations react dynamically to sensor input, while a custom haptic “purring” engine adds tactile personality. The hardware is crafted to the standard of fine jewelry, with CNC‑machined stainless steel, anodized aluminum, brass, and AR‑coated glass, all finished with custom CREATURE screws. This meticulous construction ensures STARBOY feels like a precious object as much as a playful companion.

At its core, STARBOY integrates a suite of sensors – including a camera, microphone, temperature sensor, and accelerometer – powered by locally running AI models. These allow it to recognize human faces, respond to up to 30 hand gestures, and react to environmental changes such as heat, cold, noise, or movement. Its behavioral engine gives STARBOY moods and emotions: it can grow anxious in loud environments, shiver in the cold, or get dizzy when shaken.

When STARBOYs meet, they communicate by swapping eyes, sharing personality traits, and even spreading firmware updates wirelessly, creating a dynamic ecosystem of evolving digital pets. Available for pre‑order now, each unit ships with a distinct personality and a unique set of eyes – drawn from over 5,000 possible variations – making every STARBOY a one‑of‑a‑kind companion.
