WILDSIDE Yohji Yamamoto has partnered with TRADMAN’S BONSAI, led by visionary Teppei Kojima, to launch a six-piece capsule collection that reimagines traditional Japanese bonsai through a contemporary fashion lens.
The collaboration centers on the “Goyomatsu Moyogi-Mei ‘501’” (Japanese Five-Needle Pine), a bonsai particularly dear to Kojima. This central motif is translated into bold embroidery and prints, merging Yohji Yamamoto’s dark, refined aesthetic with TRADMAN’S BONSAI’s cultural storytelling.
The collection is anchored by a standout Reversible Souvenir Jacket, which showcases a bold monochromatic embroidery of the ‘501’ pine on the back. The reverse side features an intricate jacquard-woven collage of TRADMAN’S BONSAI’s most prized specimens, including the Black Pine and Juniper, resulting in a unique camouflage-like textile. This aesthetic of “hidden playfulness” continues into a cotton chino tailored jacket and matching asymmetrical pocket drawstring pants, where the same bonsai collage lining adds a layer of depth and discovery to the otherwise minimalist black exterior.
Scheduled for a global release on March 5, 2026, the collection will be available through Yohji Yamamoto’s flagship stores and WILDSIDE’s official online platform, with prices ranging from $110 – $1,200 USD.
