Swedish bedwear brand Magniberg has joined forces with the iconic Moomin characters to launch a distinctive capsule collection that bridges the worlds of high-quality textiles and contemporary apparel.
The collaboration draws its creative soul from Tove Jansson’s first Moomin story, The Moomins and the Great Flood, a 1945 tale centered on themes of migration, inclusivity and the search for a safe haven. By utilizing Jansson’s original black, white and sepia-toned illustrations as a canvas, the collection translates these beguiling images onto a range of garments designed with Magniberg’s signature energy and focus on tactile quality.
The range introduces several firsts for Magniberg, including an ecru denim jacket with matching pants, and a hoodie presented as a piece of “modern merch.” The range further expands into graceful T-shirts and trousers crafted from drapey, see-through viscose, alongside soft virgin wool blankets and scarves. Magniberg’s staple night shirts and long-sleeve tees are also reimagined as frames for Jansson’s dramatic pen-and-ink drawings and watercolor washes.
The collection is available now through Magniberg and select retailers, with prices ranging from €100 – €440 EUR (approx. $118 – $517 USD).
