Toledano & Chan’s b/1 “Dazzle” Takes Cues From Naval Camouflage
One version keeps the concept purely graphic, while Double Dazzle adds 350 natural stones.
Summary
Toledano & Chan launched the b/1 "Dazzle" and "Double Dazzle" watches.
Inspired by WWI dazzle camouflage, the Grade 5 titanium cases feature frosted and brushed stripes.
Limited to 188 ($7,700 USD) and 12 pieces ($9,700 USD).
Toledano & Chan is returning to its signature b/1 platform with two of its most graphic interpretations yet: the b/1 “Dazzle” and gem-set “Double Dazzle.” The concept takes its name from the disruptive camouflage developed for naval vessels during the First World War, which was designed not to hide a ship but to confuse an observer’s perception of its size, direction and speed through fractured geometric patterns.
That visual logic sits naturally within the b/1’s already unconventional architecture, whose angular form was inspired by Marcel Breuer’s former Whitney Museum building in New York. Rendered here entirely in Grade 5 titanium, the familiar asymmetric case, left-facing destro crown, integrated bracelet and faceted sapphire crystal become the framework for a pattern intended to visually break apart the watch’s silhouette as it moves.
Toledano & Chan builds it directly into the metal through CNC engraving, followed by alternating diamond-frosted and satin-brushed finishing. Irregular lines continue uninterrupted from the case across the titanium dial and bracelet, allowing different planes to catch the light independently and giving the watch a constantly shifting appearance.
The Double Dazzle pushes that idea toward jewellery, adding 350 natural pavé-set diamonds to the dial while retaining the same disruptive geometry around it. Despite the additional stones, the underlying b/1 proportions remain compact at approximately 33.5mm wide, with the sloping architecture measuring between 9.1mm and 10.4mm thick depending on the point of measurement. Both models are water-resistant to 50 meters.
Inside sits a Swiss-made Sellita SW100 automatic caliber, providing hours and minutes with approximately 42 hours of power reserve. Together, the releases form a 200-piece run, with the standard b/1 Dazzle limited to 188 examples and priced at $7,700 USD, while the diamond-set Double Dazzle is restricted to just 12 pieces at $9,700 USD. Both models are scheduled to become available from October 24, 2026 through Toledano & Chan’s website.
