Netflix has officially debuted the trailer for The Altruists, an eight-episode limited drama series that chronicles the rise and fall of FTX founders Sam Bankman-Fried and Caroline Ellison. The show stars Anthony Boyle and Julia Garner as the crypto figures at the center of the high-profile financial unraveling.

Inspired by New York Magazine reporting by Kevin T. Dugan and Jen Wieczner, the narrative details two ambitious young idealists who set out to reshape the global financial system before facing accusations of stealing $8 billion USD. Boyle portrays Bankman-Fried alongside Garner’s Ellison, leading an ensemble cast that includes Alex Lawther, Karan Soni, Matt Rife, Paul Reiser, and Jennifer Grey.

The project is executive produced by Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Productions alongside Graham Moore, Jacqueline Hoyt, Scoop Wasserstein, and star Julia Garner. The drama examines the interpersonal dynamics, corporate ambitions, and legal consequences surrounding the collapsed cryptocurrency exchange and its affiliated trading firm, Alameda Research.

The Altruists premieres globally on Netflix on November 19, 2026. Watch the trailer above.
