Summary:

  • LEGO and Pokémon have announced an official collaboration, teaming up on three new sets launching next month.
  • The sets feature iconic Pokémon including Pikachu, Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise, as well as Eevee and a Poké Ball.
  • Fans can pre-order starting today, with the worldwide launch to follow on February 27.

After years of fan speculation, the highly anticipated collaboration between the LEGO Group and The Pokémon Company is finally happening. The partnership marks the first time the world’s most recognisable creatures have been translated into brick form, with the first “LEGO Pokémon” sets dropping just a few weeks from now.

Dropping February 27, the debut lineup from two of the world’s biggest toy companies is clearly aimed beyond kids’ shelves. Leading the release is the large-scale “LEGO® Pokémon™ Pikachu and Poké Ball” (2050 pieces) build designed as a statement display piece, capturing the franchise’s mascot mid-motion with a level of dynamism LEGO has increasingly leaned into with its adult-focused sets.

The collaboration goes deeper into nostalgia with the “LEGO® Pokémon™ Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise” (6,838 pieces) set, a premium, high-piece-count set featuring Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise. Reimagining the original Kanto starters in articulated, buildable form, the trio can be displayed individually or combined as a centrepiece, tapping directly into the generation that grew up choosing their first Pokémon on a Game Boy screen.

Balancing the heavier builds is a smaller “LEGO® Pokémon™ Eevee” (587 pieces) set, offering a more accessible entry point without sacrificing display appeal. With poseable elements and expressive detailing, it speaks to Pokémon’s ability to resonate across age groups, from first-time fans to long-time collectors. And, to mark the launch, LEGO will also offer a limited Kanto Region Gym Badge display as a gift with purchase during release week – a quiet nod to Pokémon’s origins that’s available only between February 27 and March 3.

LEGO says the collaboration has been developed with an emphasis on authenticity, translating Pokémon’s visual language into brick-built form without losing character or personality. And with Pokémon approaching three decades of cultural dominance and LEGO continuing to evolve and innovate – as with its recent SMART Brick – it’s a partnership that feels less like a quick crossover, and more like a long-overdue cultural alignment.

The new LEGO Pokémon sets are available to pre-order now via LEGO’s website, drop worldwide February 27, with pricing as follows: LEGO® Pokémon™ Eevee (£54.99 GBP/$59.99 USD), “LEGO® Pokémon™ Pikachu and Poké Ball” (£179.99 GBP/$199.99 USD), and “LEGO® Pokémon™ Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise” (£579.99 GBP/$649.99 USD).
