Freddie Gibbs x The Alchemist's 'Alfredo: The Movie' Is Dropping Tomorrow

After dropping crumbs of their forthcoming collaborative project for a few weeks now, Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist have shared a proper update on the new album – sort of. After sharing cover art yesterday, the producer/rapper pair has revealed a trailer for what appears to be the anticipated album’s companion film, Alfredo: The Movie.
Both Gibbs and Alc shared the trailer for the project on Instagram, describing it as “A Tokyo Crime Saga.” They both star in the film – unconfirmed whether it’s a full-length or short film – with Nicholas Walker handling the direction.

“Life is like pouring sake. Pour it faithfully. Nothing will spill,” begins the off-screen narrator in Japanese, the English translation showing in yellow subtitles across the bottom of the screen.
“Lose ever a sliver of focus, you will stain your own clothes. Do you understand?” the narrator continues.
As the trailer wraps with a clip of Gibbs doing pull-ups and a Japanese title card that reads Alfredo, the narrator says, “There is still work that needs to be done,” the message also running across the screen. Watch the full trailer in the Instagram post below.

Earlier this month, a pre-save link to Alfredo 2 began circulating the internet. Showcasing the follow-up album’s supposed new cover art, the link was shortly deactivated and led to an error page. The original Alfredo album dropped on May 29, 2020.
The top line of the trailer’s closing credits reads: “Softspot presents Alfredo II.” Whether a predecessor to the project or the Alfredo 2 project itself, only time will tell when Alfredo: The Movie hits YouTube this Thursday, July 17, at 9 a.m. PST.
