Summary

  • The Emirates FA Cup came together with London-based artist and designer Slawn to create bespoke, stadium-wide designs for the 2025 final match between Manchester City and Crystal Palace.
  • This marks the second collaboration between the Cup and the artist, following the artist’s trophy redesign in 2024.

The Emirates FA Cup tapped Olaolu Slawn for what may be his largest project to date. Last season, the London-based artist turned heads with a custom trophy design, which fused his caricature-style forms with a sleek, metallic elegance. For the 2025 final, the Cup welcomed him back for another creative takeover, this time, with the stadium itself as his canvas.

Slawn’s designs could be seen throughout last Saturday’s match, from the pre-match ceremony and banner parade to the celebratory champagne bottles. Completed in two colorways – sky-colored hues for Manchester City, and deep reds and blues for Crystal Palace – his bold line work and street art flair brought the heat to England’s biggest football stage.

Fresh off his recent Nike collaboration and sold-out Saatchi Yates show last fall, the artist, just 24 years old, is on a path to greatness, not only solidifying his place in the contemporary art landscape, but sports, fashion and culture at large.
