Update: Kevin Durant teased an Air Bakin-inspired take on his new Nike KD 18 during the regular season — one that ended in disappointment for the star-studded franchise. Nike has now officially revealed the sneaker, highlighting its red, gold, and black composition that features an “EA$Y” callout at the interior side of the tongue. Release remains set for May 15 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $150 USD.
Original Story: After lacing up in the Nike KD 18 “Air Bakin” in a Phoenix Suns game, Kevin Durant and the Swoosh are set to release later this spring. Taking on a bold red and black upper make up for the base, the shoe’ echoes Air Bakin’s signature aesthetic. The shoe is constructed with breathable mesh as well wavy side panels. KD’s branding is added on the tongue to give the retro design a contemporary detail. While it was seen to have been a controversial design when it first debuted, the shoe still remains one of the more popular models with the Swoosh. The last time the “Air Bakin” retroed was in 2014 and in 2023, Supreme reimagined the silhouette with its own touches. Look out for the Nike KD 18 “Air Bakin” arrives in May.
