TaylorMade Just Made Rory McIlory's Irons Available to Everyone
The same set he used to complete the Grand Slam.
Rory McIlroy‘s unique TaylorMade irons have long been a source of curiosity since he put them in play in 2017. And while there have likely been several tweaks made along the way, he still uses virtually the same set to this day. 18 PGA TOUR wins and one Green Jacket later, you can now game a replica version thanks to TaylorMade.
The sleek, compact RORS·PROTO is forged from soft 1025 carbon steel and includes a horizontal channel across the back cavity to separate mass on either side. Toplines are especially thin on the 7 and 8 iron, and instead of using the MX9 grooves found on the inline P·730 irons, Rory goes for the TW2 grooves favored by Tiger Woods. Finally, adding a touch of novelty, the clubs also include subtle nods to Rory’s Grand Slam achievement, featuring four colored dots on the hosel.
