Earl Sweatshirt has cosigned MAVI a couple of times now, showing love to the rising North Carolina rapper in the form of featured verses and social media support of his solo releases.
After teasing “Landgrab” on socials throughout last week, Sweatshirt is getting back in the studio with MAVI for the pair’s first collaboration in five years.
“Landgrab” – which clocks in at just a quick 1-minute-and-28-seconds – follows up the duo’s 2019 track “EL TORO COMBO MEAL” lifted off Earl’s FEET OF CLAY EP. The cut comes with production from Hollywood Cole and also marks MAVI’s first studio release since 2024’s shadowbox album – as well as the first time MAVI has featured another rapper on his own track.
The song also arrives with an official music video, which sees the two rappers exchanging bars in a greenhouse-resembling space, with the greenery forming the shape of the album’s cover art.
