The highly anticipated prequel series to Stephen King’s iconic IT saga teases a dark glimpse into the cursed town’s history, confirming that the series will delve into the terrifying origins of Pennywise the Dancing Clown, even hinting at his return from the depths of the sewers.
Set in the 1960s, specifically in the year 1962, the plot will explore the dark events leading up to the narrative of the first IT film (2017), including how the town has been terrorized by the malevolent entity for centuries. It’s designed to be a deeper dive into the “interludes” of King’s original novel, which documented the catastrophic events in Derry’s past. The series is developed by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs.
