The official torches for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games have been revealed, marking a milestone on the road to the Games. Designed by Studio Carlo Ratti Associati for Eni and Versalis, the Essential torch pays tribute to Italian design through clean lines, visible technology and a strong focus on sustainability.

Two versions have been created — one in shimmering blue-green for the Olympics and another in bronze tones for the Paralympics. Both feature an iridescent finish and are made in Italy using recycled materials, including aluminum, brass and a bio-based polymer. The torches run on bio-LPG made from renewable waste and can be refilled up to 10 times, reducing overall production needs.

Presented in Milan and Osaka by celebrated athletes like Stefania Belmondo and Bebe Vio, the torches will be on display at Triennale Milano and Expo 2025 before the relay begins. After the Games, the Olympic torch will join the permanent collection at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne — cementing its place in history as a modern icon of innovation and unity.
