Jennie and Dua Lipa Go All in on “Handlebars” Music Video
The groovy beats are set against trippy, psychedelic-inspired visuals.
In an exciting collaboration, BLACKPINK’s Jennie and British pop sensation Dua Lipa have teamed up for a bouncy, intoxicating track titled “Handlebars,” released as part of Jennie’s debut solo album Ruby.
“I trip and fall in love / Just like a Tuesday drunk / I always go all in, all in, all in,” the duo sings, capturing the exhilarating and often chaotic feeling of diving headfirst into romance. Written by Lipa, Amy Allen, James Alan Ghaleb, Rob Bisel and Delacey, “Handlebars” delves into the vulnerability and whirlwind that often accompany passionate relationships. The track radiates a playful, groovy and intoxicating energy, paired with a bold, psychedelic-inspired music video.
Directed by BRTHR, the “Handlebars” music video takes fans on a surreal journey through a kaleidoscopic world of color and fantasy. The video opens with Jennie lying on a circular bed surrounded by TV screens, evoking a futuristic vibe. As she walks through a rainy alleyway, a snap of her fingers freezes the rain in place. The most visually striking moment comes when the two stars lie on a sparkling, heart-shaped spider’s web, symbolizing their entanglement in love and desire.
This isn’t the first time Jennie and Dua Lipa have teamed up. The pair previously collaborated on BLACKPINK’s 2017 hit “Kiss and Make Up,” and their latest track, “Handlebars,” showcases their undeniable chemistry once again.
