Update: It’s been over half a year since word of the Air Jordan 9 “Cool Grey” returning for 2025 was first spread. Now, an initial preview of the sneaker has surfaced, confirming that the pair will stay true to the 2002 original by combining various gray hues with a touch of white at the midsole and heel branding. Release is scheduled to occur on March 15 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $210 USD. Stay tuned for a complete preview of the sneaker and review our initial breakdown below for more info.

Original Story: Jordan Brand fans are in for an early 2000s comeback. The Air Jordan 9 in “Cool Grey” is making a return after it originally released in 2002. The subtle tone hits the sleek and classic design once more, but fans will have to wait just a little over a year before they can get their hands on the original model.

Sporting the same color scheme as the OG, the shoe takes on a medium grey, cool grey and white aesthetic. The exact shoe was spotted on Michael Jordan. During his second era in the NBA with the Wizards, Jordan wore the shoe on the court. A timeless silhouette, the basketball-based shoe features a medium grey nubuck upper featuring white accents for the subtle highlight of the Jumpman logo on the midsole, laces and midsole. Cool grey hits the patent leather mudguards as the shoe sits atop a semi-translucent outsole to round out the design.

The Air Jordan 9 “Cool Grey” hits shelves in Spring 2025 at select retailers and online at Nike. Stay tuned for more closer to the release date of this nostalgic silhouette.
