UNIMATIC's Latest Modello Due Timepiece Is Made of Titanium ... and Elk
The hunting and fishing-inspired watch combines industrial and natural in appealing fashion.
UNIMATIC is drawing from the great outdoors — specifically hunting and fishing — on its latest Modello Due timepiece. Officially dubbed the Modello Due U2S-T-W, the made in Italy timepiece features a mixture of natural and industrial materials, namely a titanium body secured to a real elk leather strap.
The sandblasted titanium case measures 38.5mm, and features a light olive face (the brand dubs this tone “Verde Safari”) that matches the tone of its richly-textured, box-stitched elk band, and offers a date window at the six-hour marker. Hands and hour markers alike glow brightly in the dark thanks to UNIMATIC’s SuperLumiNova GL light old radium coating, while open second rails and dial trims are done up in matte black.
Tech-wise, the UNIMATIC Modello Due U2S-T-W features an automatic Sellita SW200-1 Swiss movement with a 38-hour power reserve. Its sapphire crystal dome measures 2.7mm thick and is equipped with a reflective coating, while the caseback measures 1.8mm. The oversized crown clocks in at 8mm, and, true to its inspirations, the timepiece is water-resistant up to 1,000 feet.
