Porsche Design Unveils the Chronograph 1 – F.A.T. 2025 Edition
Limited to 136 pieces and featuring a fully white Super-LumiNova coated dial.
Porsche Design has reimagined its legendary timepiece with the release of the Chronograph 1 – F.A.T. 2025 Edition. Marking a significant departure from its traditional design, this exclusive watch is limited to just 136 pieces and introduces a fully white Super-LumiNova coated dial, ensuring maximum readability even in complete darkness.
The original Chronograph I, introduced in 1972, was a pioneer as the first entirely black chronograph, inspired by the dashboard of the Porsche 911. Now, inverting that legacy, Porsche Design has collaborated with FAT International to craft a timepiece that pays homage to motorsport heritage. The watch’s striking white dial, contrasted by black indices, numbers and hands, retains the iconic red stop-seconds hand for enhanced visibility — essential for high-speed endurance races like the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Honoring Porsche’s racing success, the Chronograph 1 – F.A.T. 2025 Edition subtly integrates historical elements into its design. In the dark, the silhouette of the legendary Porsche 962 appears on the hour counter, while the subdial at 6 o’clock features a hidden “9,” “6” and “2” — a nod to the victorious race car. The day display further embraces FAT International’s influence by replacing “SAT” and “SUN” with “FAT” in signature red, transforming weekends into race weekends.
Encased in ultra-light titanium with a matte black titanium carbide coating, the watch reflects the aerodynamic elegance of the Porsche 962. It is powered by the COSC-certified Porsche Design caliber WERK 01.240 with a flyback function, perfect for precise lap timing. The chronograph comes with multiple straps, including a white textile band with a FAT Ice Race badge and a purple textile-and-leather “F.A.T. Mankei Strap” inspired by Porsche’s historic Grossglockner High Alpine Road.
The Chronograph 1 – F.A.T. 2025 Edition will be available for order starting February 1, 2025, priced at €10,936 EUR ($11,200 USD), via Porsche Design’s online store and at select retail locations.
