NAMESAKE’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection, “AFTERNOON,” debuted through a visually striking live-streamed runway show, offering a deeply personal narrative centered on family, nostalgia and self-discovery. Creative Director Steve Hsieh draws from his own experiences, blending memories of his brothers’ coming-of-age in Bellevue with his parents’ spiritual journey in Bhutan, crafting a collection that explores the delicate balance between respect, vulnerability and generational connection.
At the heart of “AFTERNOON” lies the theme of introspection and trust, embodied through the simple yet profound imagery of a father and son sharing a lakeside picnic. The collection translates this quiet moment into garments that celebrate heritage, growth and the search for harmony.
Utilizing Italian, Japanese, Taiwanese and Indian fabrics, NAMESAKE merges eco-conscious materials – including wool, cotton, recycled polyester and nylon – with thoughtful craftsmanship. Harrington check, flannel and water-ripple patterns mirror the organic flow of nature, while performance-driven textiles provide comfort, durability and functionality.
The collection’s aesthetic reflects a seamless fusion of tradition and modernity, using innovative tailoring techniques such as seamless shoulder constructions and scarf-like drapes, symbolizing unspoken connections across generations. Inspired by Bhutan’s national sport, archery, the collection incorporates motifs of focus and balance, reinforcing themes of discipline and personal growth. Elements of mountaineering wear bring a sense of exploration, while a nod to NBA legend Carmelo Anthony’s father-son bond underscores the importance of relationships that transcend generations.
Blending athleticism with contemporary fashion, the collection reinterprets sportswear influences with functional yet refined silhouettes, echoing the brand’s signature approach of merging luxury tailoring with elevated streetwear. As NAMESAKE’s co-founding brothers continue their creative evolution, “AFTERNOON” serves as both a personal reflection and an invitation for wearers to embrace their own moments of connection, introspection and serenity.
