‘MF Ghost’ Season 3 Will Release in 2026
Following the manga’s finale.
Over the weekend, official MF Ghost outlets dropped a new video teaser. While the video served to commemorate the original manga’s finale before its last chapter’s release, it also came with the news that season 3 of its anime is set to air in 2026.
Created by Shuichi Shigeno, the original MF Ghost manga debuted in 2017 as a much-anticipated sequel to the legendary street-racing series, Initial D. Set two decades after the events of Initial D, MF Ghost follows the story of Kanata Rivington/Katagiri, a 19-year-old Japanese-Britsh prodigy racer, as he enters his first MFG Competition while searching for his missing father.
At the end of December 2024, MF Ghost’s second anime season wrapped up partway through the Peninsula Manazuru race. While Kanata aced the qualifying round with stellar results, his performance in the actual race was significantly impeded after sustaining an elbow injury.
While Season 3 is confirmed for a 2026 release, no specific windows are unveiled at this point. However, given the production time between the previous seasons, it is likely that fans can expect the anime’s return as early as the start of 2026.
