Konami Confirms Release Date for ‘Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater’ Remake

Konami has officially confirmed the launch of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater, as announced during the recent “State of Play” livestream. Following the teaser Sony released last year, this reboot of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater aims to stay faithful to Hideo Kojima’s 2004 masterpiece while enhancing it with modern technology, including Unreal Engine 5 graphics, improved animations and updated voiceovers using the original performances.
The game will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, players will once again step into the boots of Naked Snake as he navigates the treacherous jungles of the Soviet Union during the Cold War, facing off against The Boss and the elite Cobra Unit.
The remake will include a modern control scheme alongside a classic mode for those who prefer the original gameplay style. Additionally, survival elements such as hunting, camouflage and injury treatment have been enhanced to provide a more immersive experience.
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater is set to release on August 28 with pre-orders expected to go live soon. Watch the trailer above.
