Raymond Weil has partnered with seconde/seconde/ to unveil a limited-edition reinterpretation of the Toccata Heritage dress watch. The collaboration, launched as part of the brand’s countdown to its 50th anniversary, blends the rigor of Swiss watchmaking with the Parisian creative’s ironic and witty design language.
Inspired by the childhood game “Simon Says,” the novelty piece transforms into a horological “Raymond Says,” inviting wearers to both respect and subvert the rules of elegance. This creative dialogue breathes contemporary life into a classic silhouette first introduced by Raymond Weil over forty years ago.
The limited-edition reference 2280 is distinguished by its dual-zone anthracite dial, which cleverly plays on notions of concealment and revelation. The left side features a matte opaline finish with ghostly details, accompanied by a yellow inscription at 9 o’clock that reads: “Dress shirt cuff should cover at least half of the watch.” In contrast, the right side reveals polished markers and sunburst reflections, with inscriptions oriented vertically for a subtle typographic twist. The caseback continues the theme of etiquette with an engraved instruction: “Never wind your watch while wearing it. Take it off first, then wind it in a dramatic fashion.” These humorous interventions highlight André’s ability to tease tradition while maintaining refinement.
Technically, the watch remains faithful to Raymond Weil’s heritage of precision and craftsmanship. Housed in an oval stainless steel case measuring 37.7mm by 32.5mm with a thickness of 6.95mm, the timepiece wears slim and elegant on most wrists. Dauphine hands, short polished lugs and a black calfskin strap with alligator-style embossing complete the ensemble, balancing modernized elegance with vintage charm. Inside, it’s powered by the manually wound RW4100 movement, offering a 45-hour power reserve.
Priced at $2,075 USD and produced in limited numbers, the Raymond Weil x seconde/seconde/ Toccata Novelty is avai;able for order through the brand’s official webstore.
