INVINCIBLE and Vans have reunited for their second highly anticipated collection, titled “Off The Rhyme,” featuring fresh takes on the classic Old Skool and SK8-Mid silhouettes. This new collaboration draws inspiration from rhythm, movement, and the natural evolution of skate-worn shoes. The design continues the deconstruction and double-layer construction emphasis seen in their first release.
The collection reinterprets Vans’ iconic Jazz Stripe as a line of motion, reflecting a sense of rhythm across the shoes. Inspired by the wear and tear from grinding against grip tape, the design introduces new layers that emerge over time. The upper overlay features distinct splatter graphics, with the left and right shoes carrying non-identical patterns. This varied layout is meant to introduce movement, taking inspiration from the free-flowing spirit of jazz.
As the shoe experiences wear and abrasion, the underlay reveals Vans’ classic checkerboard pattern, transforming the recognizable visual into a structural element of the shoe’s layered construction. The collection is available globally via an online raffle until December 4. The SK8-Mid is an exclusive offering available solely at INVINCIBLE stores. Following an Asia launch on Saturday, December 6, a global release will take place on the same day at select Vans stores. The shoe will also launch via HBX.
