Nike Basketball has been bringing back Kobe Bryant‘s signature shoes, one after another. This year, we saw the Kobe 3 make its return in Protro form and looking ahead to 2026, the Kobe 1 Protro is rumored to be returning. 2024 treated us to the Kobe 9 gracing shelves again, taking on its low and high-top forms.
Its engineered mesh-equipped Kobe 9 EM Protro was featured in the “Team Bank” collection and has now surfaced in a new “Purple Dynasty” colorway. Our first look at the pair sees the mesh drenched in purple, with elements like the Swooshes and Kobe branding also favoring various purple hues. While not directly a Los Angeles Lakers tribute, it’s sure to be a pair worn by players and fans of the franchise alike.
At the time of writing, Nike Basketball has not indicated when this “Purple Dynasty” iteration of the Kobe 9 EM Protro will be dropping.
