Summary

  • Teenage Engineering releases the riddim n’ ting, an EP‑40 sampler, sequencer and composer geared with over 400 sounds and reggae‑inspired effects
  • Features include toggle lacing system, 12 stereo voices, punch‑in effects and versatile connectivity

Teenage Engineering has introduced the EP‑40 riddim n’ ting, a powerful sampler, sequencer and composer designed for expressive live performance. The release highlights the brand’s playful yet technically advanced approach, offering tightly synced MIDI sequences, grid‑synced loops and reggae‑inspired effects for real‑time sound shaping.

Preloaded with over 400 handcrafted instruments and sounds from iconic reggae producers, the unit also features a subtractive synth engine with classic bass and lead tones and pressure‑sensitive dub sirens. This new offering also provides 12 stereo /16 mono poly voices, 128MB of system memory and a sampling frequency of 46kHz/16‑bit.

It supports nine user‑editable projects, seven main effects, and twelve punch‑in™ effects, all controlled via pressure‑sensitive keys and a multifunctional fader. Connectivity options include stereo in/out, sync in/out, MIDI in/out, and USB‑C, making the device versatile for both studio and stage setups.

The launch also includes the EP‑2350 ting performance microphone, which connects directly to the riddim or any sound system. The mic features four live voice effects – echo, echo+spring, pixie and robot – alongside four replaceable samples and adjustable parameters, delivered through a 3.5mm curly cable line‑out.

Priced at $299 USD, the riddim n’ ting is available now via Teenage Engineering. The brand is also offering a limited launch promotion that bundles the mic with the EP‑40, alongside other merch. For more details, head over to Teenage Engineering’s official store.
