The New Balance Numeric skate line is collaborating with Louisiana-based boutique Rukus for the striking 480 “Mallard Duck” edition, a design that pays direct homage to the local culture and the deep-rooted tradition of duck hunting in the region known as the “Sportsman’s Paradise.” This release transforms the classic skate silhouette into a highly expressive tribute, utilizing a color palette that mirrors the beautiful plumage of the mallard duck itself.

The shoe features a base constructed from premium brown suede and leather, which reflects the bird’s body feathers, complemented by vibrant yellow tumbled leather on the toe box, reminiscent of the duck’s beak. Accents of green suede hit the heel counter, mimicking the iridescent head, while orange detailing on the lining and outsole finishes the look, nodding to the duck’s feet.
