Nike has officially revealed images of the Air Max Plus silhouette from the Freestyle 21 Collection, created in partnership with the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. First previewed in October, the shoe was designed by 11-year-old patient Sergio Cano Marque and boasts a highly personal design that reflects his diverse interests.

Sergio’s pair is a mismatched creation, with the right shoe in black and the left in white. The black shoe highlights his passion for gaming and drawing, featuring Tetris-style patterns alongside vibrant illustrations of game controllers, pencils, friendly ghosts and rocket ships. The white shoe continues this imaginative theme with a playful scene of a monster lizard enjoying a pizza party set against a colorful New York City skyline.

Complementing the main design, small details complete the sneaker’s narrative. These include pizza-print insoles, an orange tongue referencing Sergio’s love for basketball and a shifting “S” patch on the tongue. Finally, the sneaker’s theme is neatly tied back to his favorite gaming controller with “buttons” integrated into the outsole.

While an official release date for the Nike Air Max Plus “Doernbecher” remains unconfirmed, it is anticipated to launch in Spring 2026.
