At Dubai Watch Week 2025, Biver unveiled an expanded Automatique Collection, a series that continues to distill the brand’s watchmaking philosophy into its purest form. Originally launched in September 2024 with four references, the Automatique has become a platform for exploring traditional crafts through contemporary design.
The new collection introduces guilloché, gem-setting, and grand feu enamel, alongside innovative combinations of metals and hard stones, underscoring the brand’s commitment to artistry and precision. Co-founder Jean-Claude Biver stated that this collection of dials establishes a strong and distinctive identity for the watch family, intended to become a clear and powerful expression of the brand identity over time.
Among the highlights are two new metal-dialed models. One pairs an 18k rose gold case with a dial crafted from PD210, a palladium-rich white gold alloy, creating a subtle two-tone effect. Another reference features a platinum case with a deep blue dial combining sunray finishing and Clous de Paris guilloché, marking the first time this technique has been applied to the Automatique. Each dial requires countless hours of hand-executed guilloché, reflecting Biver’s dedication to traditional craftsmanship.
The most extensive additions fall under the Atelier Series, which welcomes seven new references utilizing four different hard stones: mahogany obsidian, Oeil de Fer, blue quartzite, and lavender jade. The unique aesthetic of each stone is complemented by its case metal, such as the rose gold model housing the swirling, deep hues of the mahogany obsidian dial.
Furthermore, Biver is introducing gem-setting to the delicate hard stone dials for the first time, offering baguette-cut diamond or blue sapphire markers on models like the blue quartzite and lavender jade.
All models are powered by the Calibre JCB-003, a three-hand automatic movement with a 22k gold micro-rotor and 65-hour power reserve, designed in collaboration with Dubois Depraz. Together, the collection demonstrates Biver’s evolving design language — layered, nuanced, and deeply rooted in both tradition and innovation.
