Deadline reports that the sequel could rake in over $125 million USD to $150 million USD from 4,000 theaters in the US and Canada, along with more than $70 million USD from global markets. The first Wicked opened with $112.5 million USD domestically and $164 million USD worldwide, setting a new start record for adaptations of Broadway musicals. Its sequel is set to surpass those numbers.
Wicked: For Good sees Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo reprise their roles as Glinda and Elphaba, and will take place years after its predecessor.
