Warner Bros. has officially given the green light to a sequel to its massive cinematic hit, A Minecraft Movie, confirming that Minecraft 2 is now in development. This quick turnaround, just over two years after the first film’s release, solidifies the studio’s confidence in the franchise’s ability to anchor the competitive summer movie season. Director Jared Hess, known for his quirky and inventive style, is confirmed to return to helm the project, co-writing the screenplay alongside Chris Galletta.
