Summary

  • Nothing’s Phone (3a) Lite is positioned as an affordable alternative to Phone (3) and (3a)
  • It runs on the Nothing OS 3.5 and is available in two colorways, in 8GB RAM + 128GB and 8GB RAM + 256GB versions

The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite is the newest addition to Nothing’s mid-range lineup, deliberately positioned as the brand’s most affordable smartphone to date, sitting below the Phone (3) and Phone (3a). Its offers a refined entry point into the brand’s design-forward smartphone lineup, balancing essential features with a minimalist aesthetic, while retaining the core visual identity that defines the Nothing ecosystem.

With a glass finish and signature Glyph interface, the Phone (3a) Lite maintains the brand’s commitment to transparency and modular design, appealing to users who value both form and function. Performance-wise, the Phone (3a) Lite features a vibrant 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 3,000 nits peak brightness — specifications that are identical to the more expensive Phone (3a).

However, several key differences define its “Lite” status: it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro 5G chipset, which is around 18% less powerful than the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip found in the Phone (3a). Furthermore, the charging speed is reduced to 33W compared to the Phone (3a)’s 50W, and the camera sacrifices the telephoto lens, opting for a basic 2 MP macro sensor to accompany the 50 MP main and 8 MP ultra-wide lenses.

The phone runs on Nothing OS 3.5 based on Android 15, promising three years of major Android updates and six years of security patches, aligning with Nothing’s commitment to clean, long-lasting software. A key software feature is the Essential Key, which integrates with Essential Space, an AI-powered hub for note-taking and personalized suggestions. Powering the experience is a robust 5,000 mAh battery, capable of reaching 50% charge in just 20 minutes.

The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite is now available via the brand’s official webstore and authorized dealers, with prices starting at £249 GBP (approx. $327 USD) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, while its 8GB RAM + 256GB version retails for £279 GBP (approx. $367 USD).
