Carhartt WIP is celebrating 50 years of one of its most enduring silhouettes with the release of the OG Active Jacket 50th Anniversary Edition. First introduced in 1975, the Active Jacket has become a cultural staple, evolving from its workwear roots into a symbol of versatility and authenticity across music, skateboarding, cinema, and subcultures. To mark the milestone, Carhartt WIP has unveiled four special-edition designs that reinterpret the original while honoring its legacy.

The anniversary lineup features two canvas iterations, a denim version and a leather edition, each fully reversible and finished with a commemorative Square Label. The canvas styles are crafted from Carhartt WIP’s signature Dearborn Canvas: one in black with a bold red reverse that nods to the very first Active Jacket and another in Hamilton Brown paired with a new “camo trebark” motif. The denim version offers a stone-bleached finish on one side and a diamond-quilted sateen lining on the reverse, enhanced with anniversary labeling, graphic patches, and embroidery. The leather edition delivers a more elevated interpretation, contrasted with a Hamilton Brown Dearborn Canvas reverse to remain faithful to the jacket’s heritage.

Available from October 30, 2025, the OG Active Jacket 50th Anniversary Edition will be sold through select global retailers, Carhartt WIP stores, as well as the brand’s official website. For European customers, it’ll also be available to shop through the Carhartt WIP App.
