Summary:

  • Bandit Running is celebrating the 55th New York City Marathon with a special “Run City” pop-up and an exclusive 19-piece capsule collection.
  • The “Run City” concept captures the intense, all-consuming mindset of marathon training.
  • The pop-up is open now at 489 Broome Street through November 3.

On the first Sunday of November, the New York City Marathon takes over all five boroughs of  NYC. This year marks the 55th anniversary of the race, with more than 50,000 runners from over 150 countries set to take part on Sunday, November 2.

To celebrate, NYC-based running brand Bandit has launched a limited-edition capsule collection and has opened a pop-up experience dubbed “Run City” in Soho.

“Run City” explores the unique mindset and intensity that come with marathon training – what Bandit describes as “a dystopian universe where everything outside of eating, sleeping, and training is sacrificed in pursuit of proving that effort can become meaning.”

Inspired by this concept, Bandit has organized a series of running-related events and public experiences around the theme, with the pop-up serving as the centerpiece and exclusive retail space for the capsule.

The 19-piece collection focuses on high-performance apparel and aesthetically, it channels the nocturnal pulse of New York City through the eyes of a runner – featuring shadowy overlays, gritty textures, and design cues drawn from surveillance grids, motion blur and CCTV footage. Bold, distressed typography pops against a dark, moody palette of “Asphalt Blacks” and “Steely Greys”, punctuated by high-contrast “Red” accents inspired by ambient streetlights cutting through the city’s nighttime haze.

The Bandit Run City Pop-Up is open now at 489 Broome St and runs through November 3 and the capsule is available exclusively at the Pop-Up.
