After beginning last year by announcing a trio of new ambassadors headlined by top female golf professional Charley Hull, Malbon Golf is making another bet on the LPGA Tour. Minjee Lee, a two-time major championship winner hailing from Perth, Australia and current world number 18, is the latest to adopt Malbon’s progressive streetwear looks.

The announcement arrives on the first day of the PGA Show in Orlando where Malbon is set to reveal the evolution of last year’s Performance Line under a new “Iron Sharpens Iron” theme for Fall/Winter 2025; this is no coincidence. The roster of professional Malbon athletes – now including Jason Day, Jesper Parnevik, the Hull plus newcomer Lee – continues to grow. And top talent deserves only the best when it comes to materials, fabrication and functionality.

The move also shows how Malbon is doubling down on the women’s side of the game. Just last year the brand launched a sub-label Malbon Women with co-founder Erica Malbon serving as creative director. In contrast to the earlier men’s lines which were heavily influenced by skate and streetwear culture, the women’s pieces are a modern interpretation of the country club uniform with performance dresses, pleated skirts and soft color palettes aplenty. Lee, who last appeared on the LPGA Tour wearing Korean brand WAAC, has preferred a mix of long pants and skirts while sporting polos and crewnecks on top. It will be fascinating to see which side of Malbon she embraces in her freshman year with the label.

The 28-year-old answered a few of our questions ahead of the brand’s own announcement on Tuesday, January 21.

Have you been familiar with the brand over the years?

I’ve been aware of the company for a few years now and was always a fan of their unique style. I remember always being interested to see what clothes they were releasing and especially after they started working with professional golfers.

When did you first find Malbon and why were you attracted to the brand?

I actually noticed the brand right before meeting Stephen and Erica at the Evian Championship. We got to talking and have remained very close ever since. It has been super cool to see the brand grow over the past couple of years, and I am excited to be a part of their ever-evolving style.

How would you describe your on-course style?

I’d say that my on-course style has always been more of a classic golfer look but with bold coloration and design patterns.

How does this differ from your off-course style?

When I’m not on the golf course, I love wearing a mix of street wear with casual items like oversized silhouettes. I will also occasionally wear something more formal, depending on the occasion. I’ve always liked expressing my individuality through the way I dress.

Any fashion trends you want to make its way to golf?

I think Malbon has done an incredible job of setting new trends on and off the course. Being one of their LPGA ambassadors will give me the chance to be a part of the next trendy chapter in the modern golf world, and that really excites me!

We also caught up with Stephen Malbon to get his perspective on the partnership.

What does Minjee bring to the table for Malbon?

As a global superstar, Minjee brings a strong history of success on tour. She represents a more traditional and performance-driven approach while being equally as aspirational as our other players.

How will her style evolve this season? Do you see her going for performance or more of a lifestyle inspired look?

Minjee has been wearing Malbon off the course for years. It’s great to see how her style can transition from relaxed and comfortable off the course to performance-driven during the biggest tournaments in the world.
