Hed Mayner Embraces Change and Transition for FW25
Oversized tailoring reimagined with urban sensibilities.
Hed Mayner‘s Fall/Winter 2025 collection marks the beginning of a new chapter. After leaving the studio that had been his home for seven years, Mayner embraced change by working with a pattern-maker in a new space. This transition has opened up new creative possibilities, leading to a dynamic FW25 menswear collection as Mayner continues to hone and redefine his approach to oversized tailoring.
A craving for fluidity and shapeshifting is evident in pieces like suits that are imbued with tracksuit elements, cotton shirts with arched sleeves to thick knitwear featuring tassels. The range also pushes boundaries with the likes of loose-fitting dress pants, styled and draped around the hip in “generous slow-motion.” Meanwhile, long dangly chains swing from and above belts that desperately hold these voluminous pants in place.
From flock-bonded denim, washed leather to knitted plaid that are cut and resewn, Mayner demonstrates his ability to blend opulent proportions with innovative textiles. Oversized pieces in the collection also exhibit a whimsical, swooping nature, as Mayner indulged in collaging, molding and reshaping tailored silhouettes.
