Meta Announces $300 USD Quest 3S
The headset is being billed as a more affordable alternative to the Quest 3.

Meta has created a mixed reality headset that’s described as packing all of the same capabilities as the Quest 3, albeit, offered at a lower price point. The Meta Quest 3S is being lauded as a headset for those “new to mixed reality and immersive experiences” or people who want to upgrade from the Quest or Quest 2.
The Quest 3S comes in at $300 USD, compared to the Quest 3’s $500 USD. The latter device was originally priced at $650 USD and just dropped last year, though Meta says it’s using the same technology it developed for the headset in the Quest 3S.
Among the advanced capabilities is full-color Passthrough, which allows the user to see the real world around them while in a virtual reality experience. The company has also overhauled Meta Horizon OS for spatial computing and improved the usage of 2D apps.
The Meta Quest 3S is available for pre-order now with 128 and 256GB options.
