Jahan Loh Reflects on Past and Future in New G-SHOCK DW-5600 Collaboration

Following the opening of Jahan Loh’s POSTCARDS FROM SPACE solo show, the multidisciplinary Singaporean artist now announces his next creative venture. This time, Loh has partnered up with G-SHOCK once again to co-produce a limited-edition DW-5600 watch.
From band, case to bezel, the DW-5600JAH24-4 is doused in a striking red. While many G-SHOCK models have been offered in this palette in the past, this particular hue is inspired by Loh’s latest works centering on themes of AI, resilience and the continuum of time.
A highlighted design detail from the piece includes its distinct watch band, which features dragons and flame motifs in a camouflage-like pattern. The dragon not only serves as a symbol of Loh’s Asian heritage but is also a reference to his Chinese zodiac sign.
Through the flame-like patterns that is interwoven with the mythical creature, the artist reflects on his cascading journey of going back and forth between a futuristic vision and a connection to the past. As final touches, Loh’s signature spaceman avatar is incorporated on the band loop as well as an engraving on the watch’s caseback.
On October 3, the watch will be sold at an exclusive pop-up at the G-SHOCK ION store. Following that, it will be available to CASIO_ID members only via G-SHOCK’s physical and online stores in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and China. The regular edition is priced at $229 SGD (approx. $178 USD), while the special Spaceman-themed edition retails for $269 SGD (approx. $209 USD).
