Aesop has ventured outside personal care to to craft a lamp in partnership with multidisciplinary design studio Bocci. The rechargable orb emits a soft amber glow, reminiscent of the cozy contemporary atmosphere of an Aesop store.

Reimagining Bocci’s 14p pendant style, the lamp consists of two hemispheres made of hand-poured glass, encasing the light source at the center. While mimicking the deep brown color of Aesop’s bottles, the partners retained the hand-crafted quality of the glass by embracing unique variations, like the tiny air bubbles suspended in the material. A frosted granite finish on the glass refracts the light into an organic irregular texture and the lamp’s gentle candlelit quality, evokes the brand’s aesthetic inspired by antique folklore and literature.

This co-created lighting source is currently on display at three Aesop locations: the Meatpacking District and Rockefeller Center locations in New York City, and the brand’s Gastown outpost in Vancouver. Aesop stores continue to be where the brand defines itself, as it consistently commissions high-end interior and architecture firms for elaborate site-specific installations and store designs, like the recent opening of Aesop Diagonal by Mesura Studio in Barcelona, Spain. In recent years the stores have also served as its venue thought-provoking activations like their recurring Queer Library during Pride month, which offers free books to visitors.

The lamp retails for $360 and is now exclusively available in select US and Canada Aesop stores, which are fully listed on the brand’s site.
