Tom Wood has opened the doors to its retail space within Japan’s Dover Street Market Ginza. The shop is located on the 5th floor of DSM and arrives as part of the Norwegian jewelry brand’s growing presence in Japan, following the opening of its Tokyo flagship store in Aoyama late last year.

The space was designed in-house by the Tom Wood team in Norway, merging Scandinavian and Japanese design references. A stone floor and white walls provide the foundation for minimalistic and brutalist steel and aluminum accents. Lining the walls is a chrome log display, in which the logs encircle mirrors. The team says that the logs were inspired by a Norwegian construction method called “laftwerk” with the feature emulating the look of a wood cabin, something that also appears in Japanese architecture.

Sleek materials also provide contrast to the contemporary jewelry pieces, which are displayed in three windows, each containing five glass shelves. Adding light to the space are floor-to-ceiling vertical mirrors.

“This is not just a retail space; it’s a celebration of our brand’s journey, our commitment to artistic innovation, and our dedication to offering jewelry that becomes a part of people’s stories,” Tom Wood CEO Morten Isachsen said.
