Patta and Seun Kuti Honor Afrobeat History With Collaborative Tee
Celebrating the forthcoming launch of his collaborative album with Egypt 80.
Following its Fall/Winter 2024 lookbook debut with 88ZN, Patta joins Nigerian music legend Seun Kuti for a collaborative tee spotlighting his contributions to the Afrobeat genre.
The Amsterdam-based label has grown its presence in Nigeria, celebrating its recently-opened Lagos flagship store by contributing to local music culture. As the son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, Seun Kuti has established himself alongside his late father as a musical great.
Ahead of the launch of his collaborative album with Egypt 80, Kuti unites with Patta for an illustrative T-shirt highlighting his fight for ongoing social justice in Africa. The top boasts a white base with Patta’s standard script on the upper left chest, while the back dons playful graphics taken from the new record, Heavier Yet (Lays The Crownless Head). The visuals include an eagle standing on stacks of books alongside peace symbols and a silhouette of the African continent.
Take a closer look at Patta and Seun Kuti’s T-shirt collaboration in the gallery above. It will drop in-store and online via Patta on August 23.
