Flying Lotus Drops Eerie Single “Garmonbozia,” His First New Music Since 2022
The artist has largely been busy composing music for the forthcoming horror film ‘Ash.’
Flying Lotus has dropped his first new single since 2022, “Garmonbozia,” arriving ahead of a string of festival appearances throughout Germany and the UK.
The artist is known for his incorporation of strange sounds into his music and this new single is no exception. A synth straight out of an ‘80s sci-fi flick builds an eerie intro, punctuated with a deep bass line.
“Baby, I’ve been stuck in this room with you / Living inside of this dream of you,” he sings. “In the red room, you’ve lost your way home / In the red room, they won’t let you out now.”
Flying Lotus, whose real name is Steve Ellison, has been busy for the past few years. He’s largely been preoccupied with composing soundtracks for movies and TV, including the forthcoming horror film Ash and the Netflix anime series Yasuke.
The artist also told Hypebeast in an interview that his next album is “in a state where it’s 98% done.”
