Following Seiko’s previous unveiling of three Prospex Solar Speed Chronographs, the Japanese brand revisits its first-ever Drivers model from the ‘60s with two new Marinemaster references.

The aptly named Prospex Marinemaster 1965 Diver’s Re-interpretation pays homage to the original “Marinemaster,” a watch that the members of the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition wore during their mission from 1966 – 1969. This modern reimagining faithfully recreates its iconic piece’s original proportions and elegant appeals, with modern refinements incorporated.

Offering in Green-Water and Blue-Water Navy colorways, the timepiece features its namesake hue on its textured dial. The Green-Water version is paired with a black bezel, while the Blue-Water Navy is complemented with a bezel in a matching hue.

Akin to the original that this piece draws references from, the watch face is adorned with Lumibrite-coated indices that ensure readability in dark underwater settings as far down as 200 meters. Inside the 39.5mm-wide stainless steel case, the 6L37 automatic caliber powers the reference with up to 45 hours of continuous running time.

Both variants of the  Prospex Marinemaster 1965 Diver’s Re-interpretation retail for £2,930 GBP (around $3,748 USD) and are currently available for pre-order through Sieko’s UK website.
