Kendrick Lamar Reportedly Filming Music Video in Compton, Hires Added Security
Shortly after Dot’s sold-out “The Pop Out – Ken & Friends” Juneteenth concert.

Kendrick Lamar is reportedly scheduled to film a music video in Compton this weekend and has hired added security for the project.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that the extra security will ensure that the team, community and Dot himself are all safe while working. The necessary permits have been secured by the artist’s team, while the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will deploy an unspecified number of deputies for the shoot for $120 USD an hour. While details of the visual were not revealed, it was stated that the rapper will film all over Compton.
While there was no official reason for the additional security, fans are speculating that it could have something to do with Lamar and Drake‘s beef. In early May, shots were fired outside the latter’s Bridle Path estate in Toronto, leaving one of his security guards injured. No connection between the shooting and the beef has been confirmed, however.
The report arrives shortly after Lamar’s sold-out “The Pop Out – Ken & Friends” Juneteenth concert that took place at The Kia Forum in Inglewood. He was joined by the likes of Steve Lacy, Tyler, the Creator, YG, Roddy Ricch, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, ScHoolboy Q, Dr. Dre and more, and was closed out by Dot performing his Drake diss track “Not Like Us” five times.
