Instagram users will now have the option to host Live sessions for just their Close Friends.

The app has announced that it’ll be updating the feature to allow users to broadcast exclusively to those on their Close Friends list. Previously, anytime a user hosted an Instagram Live, it would automatically be open to the public to tune in. If the account was public, even those who weren’t following could join a user’s Live.

With the update, if users opt to broadcast only to Close Friends, up to three accounts can also be added to the Live to serve as co-hosts.

The update arrives as part of a greater series of small tweaks being made to Instagram’s features. Elsewhere on the app, users can add music to carousels that also contain videos (previously only photo carousels could include music).

Stay tuned for more updates coming to Instagram.
