NAOYA HIDA & Co. Reveals Its Modern Vintage-Inspired Novelties for 2024
Only available in ultra-limited productions via the brand and The Armoury.
Independent Japanese watch brand, NAOYA HIDA & Co. has unveiled its newest offerings for the year, spanning two variations of the NH TYPE1D, one TYPE3B-1 and a brand new TYPE5A model.
Since 2018, the independent Japanese watch brand, NAOYA HIDA & Co. has been a hidden gem within the Japanese horology community. Known for its modern vintage timepieces imbued with aesthetic codes taken from the golden era of mechanical watchmaking, the brand has remained mostly under-the-radar with a loyal following.
The NH TYPE1D-2 and NH TYPE1D-3 are the latest additions to the TYPE1 series, while also being the brand’s first models to be crafted from an 18KYG material. Both are outfitted with a German silver dial, small seconds display, 60 18KYG minute scales and are powered by the Cal.3018SS hand-wound wovement. The TYPE1D-2 has a price tag of $41,100 USD, while the TYPE1D-3 is differentiated with a wave-inspired hand-engraved case by Keisuke Kano, retailing for $56,700 USD.
Priced at $27,000 USD, the TYPE3B-1’s silver dial is accentuated with a bezel and handset in 18KRG, complete with a green suede leather strap. A particular spotlight is directed to its moon phase disc, which features a hand-engraved moon face in gold that’s set against a starry lapis lazuli backdrop.
Last but not least, the NH TYPE5A is the first rectangular dress watch by NAOYA HIDA & Co., retailing for $21,300 USD. Starring a silver dial with tonal concave-shaped dolphin hands, hand-engraved bar indices and Arabic numerals, while the metallic blue small-seconds hand provides a touch of contrast. Measuring 25.9mm in diameter, the newly-developed Cal.2524SS movement is geared with 38 hours of power reserve, beating at a rate of 21,600 vph.
