Caroline Polachek Shares “Starburned and Unkissed” From A24’s ‘I Saw the TV Glow’ Soundtrack
The movie premieres in US theaters on May 3.
Caroline Polachek’s dreamy, hypnotizing vocals are the perfect accompaniment to the soundtrack of A24’s eerie supernatural film, I Saw the TV Glow.
Directed by Jane Schoenbrun, the movie is set in the ‘90s and centers on two teenagers who form a friendship over their mutual appreciation for a supernatural TV series. After the show is canceled, the friends fall elements of the show begin to converge with their real lives.
Polachek was tapped to record a song for the soundtrack, which is officially out for streaming now. The single is called “Starburned and Unkissed” and sees Polachek deliver her distinct crooning vocals over hit-maker A.G. Cook’s ‘90s-inspired, lo-fi production.
“Wake up / Distorted to the bone / Salt on demand / Say you miss it,” she sings.
Alex G scored I Saw the TV Glow, while Yeule, Florist and the Weather Station were among those that also created songs for the soundtrack.
