Luxury Swiss conglomerate Compagnie Financière Richemont S.A. (Richemont) has announced Nicolas Bos as its new CEO, effective from June 1, 2024.
Currently, the Richemont group operates in three main sectors: jewelry, watches and fashion, with notable brands and Maisons such as Cartier, Buccellati, A. Lange & Söhne, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Alaïa and Chloé under its name.
Up until now, Bos has represented Van Cleef & Arpels as its President and CEO since 2013. Before then, he held various positions for the French luxury jewelry brand since the year 2000. In the sales report published by Richemont at the start of the year, the group confirmed that its jewelry Maisons, notably, Buccellati, Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels are accounted for its strong sales, which saw an increase of 12% in Q4 of 2023.
Starting in June, Nicolas Bos will be joining the group’s Senior Executive Committee and will continue to report to Chairman Johann Rupert. As mentioned in Richemont’s official statement, the new CEO will oversee all operations, regions and Maisons under the group, particularly for the jewelry, finance and human resources sectors.
Speaking on this news, Johann Rupert has commented that he is delighted to have Bos as the group’s new CEO, noting “His vision and ability to uphold Van Cleef & Arpels’ tradition of excellence and creativity have been critical to the Maison’s remarkable growth.” The Richemont Chairman also elaborated that “Building on Richemont’s expanded scale and stronger focus on retail and jewelry, Nicolas will steer the group through the next phase of its evolution.”
